ADHD Assessment
Some of our clinicians are able to offer assessments for ADHD.
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects the brain’s ability toregulate attention, behaviour, and emotions. It can present in different ways, including:
- Inattentive Type (difficulty focusing, disorganization, forgetfulness)
- Hyperactive/Impulsive Type (restlessness, interrupting, difficulty sitting still)
- Combined Type (a mix of both inattentive and hyperactive/impulsive symptoms)
ADHD often begins in childhood, but many people are not diagnosed until later in life. Symptoms can impact school, work, relationships, and daily functioning.
Our clinicians’ ADHD assessments are thorough and evidence-based. A psychological assessment for ADHD is comprehensive and can involve thorough clinical interviewing, provision of questionnaires, scoring, and getting collateral information to come to an accurate diagnosis. The psychological assessment process also rules out various mental health conditions that may resemble ADHD symptoms.

FAQs
You may call our front desk at 604-630-3071, but the best way to make an appointment sooner (with the exception of DBT services) is to schedule a brief free phone consultation or to directly book your first appointment (for a fee) with one of our available clinicians.
We’ve created a Clinician Guide for you to screen our clinicians based on your preferences and presenting concerns. You may also book a brief Free Phone Consultation with an available clinician to discuss fit.
Please visit our DBT and group therapy page for information about our DBT service.
Please send an email to info@wisemindcentre.com if you have any questions about our fee schedule or talk to your individual clinician if you are an existing client.
Payment is due at the end of each session. We accept e-transfer, Visa or Mastercard. (We do not accept American Express card or Visa Debit). If you elect to pay by e-transfer, a credit card is required to be kept on file. If e-transfer payment for a session is not received within 48 hours of your appointment, the fee will be put through on your credit card.

Insurance companies will not share with us details of your extended health plan for confidentiality reasons.
If a session starts late, it will end at the originally scheduled time with the same fee arrangement as for a full session.
A minimum of 48 hours is required to cancel an individual session without charge. If you need to cancel, please contact your individual therapist. If your therapist accepts online booking, you would be able to cancel and reschedule your session using our online booking system.
Please note that there is a no-cancellation policy for group sessions. This means that participants will be charged for missed sessions even with advance notice. However, individuals and families will not be charged for further sessions if they give 48 hours notice to withdraw from the group. Treatment is voluntary. Individuals and families could withdraw from treatment at anytime.
Our clinic is not an ICBC vendor. Our clinicians do not accept ICBC referrals.
Please understand that while we vouch to connect you with one of our clinicians, we cannot guarantee service provision. We also cannot guarantee goodness of fit between you and a clinician initially assigned to you. Some of our clinicians offer an initial, brief phone consultation (10-15 mins). Our clinicians provide services within their professional scope of practice. If your inquiry falls outside their area of expertise, we will make every effort to provide you with external resources. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
