Brandi Cowie is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of BC (#2681) and the College of Alberta Psychologists (#4886). She obtained a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Lethbridge in 2015. She is currently accepting new clients at Wise Mind Centre for virtual appointments.
Brandi believes that clients can benefit from a strong therapeutic relationship. Building a relationship that is accepting, non-judgmental, and empathic helps to foster the client’s comfort and willingness toward change. The therapy process is tailored to the needs of the client and where they are at in their personal journey. As a therapist, Brandi walks alongside the client through their journey and helps guide them through self-discovery and change.
Brandi applies a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) informed approach to therapy. Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is a strong area of interest for Brandi and she utilizes EMDR in work with processing traumatic or painful events or memories. Mindfulness skills, emotional regulation skills, and mind-body connection skills are interwoven throughout the therapy process. Brandi works with adolescents (12 and up) and adults with a variety of psychological difficulties including, depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, post-traumatic stress disorder, and self-harm.
Brandi enjoys spending time with her family in the vast outdoors of the Rocky Mountains. Baking and cooking have become strong interests for Brandi and she is continually learning and experimenting with new recipes.
Brandi only offers virtual appointments (by phone or video conferencing) at Wise Mind Centre.
