We Live What We Teach

Shirley Friesen, M.A.

Shirley is a registered psychologist licensed by the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (#1771). She has over 20 years of experience helping people who are exhausted from trying too hard to keep everything under control. Overthinking every detail, frustrated that other people seem to live their lives effortlessly and feeling like an imposter? Shirley will help you understand what’s holding you back and how you can fulfill your potential. Shirley will introduce you to strategies to help you cope more effectively with stress and anxiety, increase your confidence, and eliminate the self defeating thoughts that prevent you from being your best self.

In addition to her individual practice, Shirley has consulted within the fitness industry and lifestyle/wellness professionals, with the TV series X-Weighted, and authored a book on weight loss and lifestyle management for their live rollout.

Finally, Shirley has a decade of experience in labour relations and workplace wellness, and was part of a Treasury Board task force that created a report to federalize the Psychological Standard and an implementation Guide for the Federal Public Service.

"Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward. "
