Denisse offers in-person appointments at our Burnaby/Central Park office.

Denisse is a compassionate Clinical Counsellor with experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds as they navigate a wide range of mental health concerns and life challenges. She is particularly passionate about helping individuals strengthen their capacity to cope with adversity, and her goal is to support clients in building practical, meaningful skills that move them toward their personal goals.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, as well as a Master of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from McGill University.

Denisse offers trauma-informed, client-centred counselling and has worked extensively with individuals experiencing grief, stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Her therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices.

She believes that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing and strives to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore challenges and build on their existing strengths. She works with clients to increase awareness of their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships, while gently experimenting with new approaches that support meaningful change.

Denisse believes the therapeutic relationship is central to healing and lasting change. She aims to be transparent, open, and easy to connect with, and invites clients to share feedback openly throughout the therapeutic process.

Please note that Wise Mind Centre is not a vendor of ICBC and WorkSafe BC. Denisse Horcasitas does not accept ICBC or WorkSafe BC referrals.
