Eugene Chi is in the Counselling Psychology doctoral program at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Eugene brings a culturally informed and client-centered approach to her clinical work, shaped by her experience as an immigrant and her multilingual ability to provide services in English, Korean, and Japanese.
Before training as a therapist, Eugene worked as a teacher, where she gained valuable experience supporting children, adolescents, and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. She now enjoys working with clients across a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and sexual identities, and has experience supporting those navigating issues related to oppression, discrimination, and marginalization. Eugene brings curiosity, openness, and respect to each therapeutic relationship.
Eugene has provided individual counselling to adult clients in both community and private practice settings. Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, identity development, life transitions, and interpersonal concerns. She works with individuals navigating trauma, ADHD, perfectionism, and complex relationships with food and body image.
In therapy, Eugene strives to create a collaborative and affirming space where clients can feel heard, respected, and supported. She values curiosity, authenticity, and compassion as guiding principles in her work.
