Laurissa Wilson is a PhD student in the Clinical Psychology program at Simon Fraser University, with a strong background in both clinical practice and psychological research. She approaches her work with warmth, collaboration, and deep respect for each client’s unique experiences. She has experience supporting adolescents and adults facing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, emotion regulation challenges, and impulsivity. She also works with individuals navigating the effects of trauma, particularly those with histories of childhood trauma. She is especially passionate about working with neurodivergent clients, including autistic individuals and those with ADHD.

Her clinical work is closely informed by her research. As a member of the Adolescent Health Lab at SFU, Laurissa’s graduate research focuses on emotion regulation, attachment, and the experiences of neurodiverse individuals and their families. She previously contributed to research on borderline personality disorder and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) in the Personality and Emotion Research Lab at SFU. Laurissa is committed to helping clients build lives that reflect their values. She draws on evidence-based approaches to support clients in setting meaningful goals, developing practical coping strategies, and fostering more connected, fulfilling lives.

Laurissa is a practicum trainee working under the supervision of Dr. Debbie Leung at Wise Mind Centre. Please note that Wise Mind Centre is not a vendor of ICBC and WorkSafe BC.

Laurissa Wilson does not accept ICBC or WorkSafe BC referrals.
