Xiaolei Deng, M.A.


Xiaolei Deng has completed his Master degree in Clinical Psychology (UBC; 2017), and he is currently completing his PhD in Clinical Psychology at University of British Columbia. During his PhD study, Xiaolei has completed practica at BC Children Hospital, Ministry of Children and Family Development, Cornerstone Child & Family Psychology Clinic, Fraser Health Mental Health and Addiction Clinic, GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre, and Chuck Jung Associates.

Across these treatment settings, Xiaolei has provided both individual and group treatment for clients struggling with depression, anxiety, obsessions and compulsions, emotional dysregulation, interpersonal difficulties, traumatic experience, and grief and loss. Xiaolei uses an integrative approach including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT). Xiaolei aims to foster a genuine and respectful therapeutic relationship that facilitates individual growth.
